Vivian Ong

Educational Psychologist Senior Therapist MA (Ed Psych), BSocSci (Hons)

Vivian Ong is an Educational Psychologist who obtained her Masters in Applied Psychology (Educational Psychology) and  Honours degree in Psychology from the Nanyang Technological University. She has been serving children and families with learning differences in paediatric settings since 2016. Her caseload includes preschool children to adolescents with learning and behavioural challenges from local and international schools. She has worked with many individuals with autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, ADHD, social communication disorder, executive dysfunction and Down syndrome, among others.

At Bloom, Vivian provides psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents. She is trained to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observational Schedule (ADOS-2). Vivian also provides therapeutic interventions for emotional regulation and social skills at her own centre Feelosophers, where she also teaches yoga to children and teens. She draws upon several intervention approaches, including Lindamood-Bell Phoneme Sequencing and Seeing Stars for children with literacy difficulties and dyslexia, Social Thinking for children with social challenges and Conscious Discipline for social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Vivian is a lively and versatile therapist who combines evidence-based interventions with creativity, often incorporating games and hands-on activities to engage her clients. She is a strong believer of parent empowerment, and complements her therapy with supportive advice and coaching for parents. Vivian is fluent in English, Chinese and Malay.
